Lisa Caruth
Instructor
Lisa has been practicing yoga for over fifteen years and teaching yoga for over ten years.
Her yoga training focused on Hatha and Vinyasa, and she teaches with an emphasis on alignment in each asana that supports and strengthens the physical body and spirit. She has approximately 400 hours of training experience from various programs over the years.
Lisa teaches her classes compassionately from a resilience-informed perspective that includes mindful awareness; she believes in respecting and honoring each student's personal yogic journey.
Lisa's specialties include mindfulness, breath work, self-compassion, gratitude, and resilience, which she brings to all her classes, whether it is an invigorating vinyasa or a soothing restorative class.
Lisa's focus on cancer diagnosis and recovery, perimenopause, menopause, arthritis, anxiety, and chronic illness are in her more specialized classes to support students affected by major life events and for those who care and support them.
Lisa is currently completing her National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Personal Trainer certification and Certified Nutritional Coach certification. She has continuing education units in oncology yoga. She is CPR/AED certified. Lisa also volunteers through the Cancer Support Community and loves bringing the gifts of yoga to cancer patients through their cancer journey.
In her life outside of yoga, Lisa is a dedicated educator with over 30 years in the classroom serving students in Ventura County. She enjoys volunteering, reading, cooking, exercise, meditation, and traveling. She is happily married and has three kitties who own her.
